Master Chefs Wins “Excellence in Sustainability” at the Event Impact Awards
Master Chefs, the independently owned catering and event management company, has been named Winner of the “Excellence in Sustainability” category at the Event Impact Awards, recognising the company’s leadership and innovation in sustainable event catering across Ireland.
The Event Impact Awards celebrate the individuals and organisations driving excellence within Ireland’s events sector, spanning corporate in-house teams and industry professionals. The awards highlight those delivering meaningful progress and innovation in how events are created and executed, while ensuring national recognition for outstanding contributions.
This sustainability accolade acknowledges Master Chefs’ long-term commitment to responsible food systems, environmental stewardship and measurable impact across its events portfolio. Central to this approach is Ellan Farm, the company’s 20-acre organic farm established in 2021, which underpins a farm-to-fork philosophy focused on food provenance, reduced food miles, waste reduction, and education.
Founded in 2000 by trained chef and entrepreneur Pat O’Sullivan, Master Chefs has grown from a traditional event catering business into a premium national provider across the Education, Healthcare, Events, and Sports & Leisure sectors. The company now employs 450 people nationwide and continues to embed sustainability across every stage of its operations – from menu design and supplier partnerships to production, logistics and on-site delivery.
Speaking following the announcement, Pat O’Sullivan, CEO of Master Chefs, said:
“Winning the Excellence in Sustainability award is a proud moment for our entire team. Sustainability is not a bolt-on for Master Chefs – it is embedded in how we design menus, support Irish producers, educate our teams, and deliver events responsibly. This recognition reflects years of investment, innovation, and commitment to doing things the right way.”
The award also recognises Master Chefs’ wider sustainability initiatives, including prioritising Irish and regional suppliers, reducing waste through smart production planning, and ongoing investment in people, systems and environmentally responsible practices across all event operations.
